Adjunct faculty will work with other faculty in support of curricula improvement as appropriate to promote students' success and mastery of course and program competencies. The person in this position will plan, organize and teach classes as assigned. Flexible hours, days and assigned campus location may vary due to enrollment.

Required Qualifications

Option 1:
Master’s degree in:

  • Engineering
  • Engineering Technology
Option 2:
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in any combination of the following qualifying fields:

  • Engineering
  • Engineering Technology
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Land Planning and Development
  • Surveying
  • Sustainable Engineering or related field
Option 3:
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in any combination of the following qualifying fields:

  • Aeronautics
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Aviation
  • Geographic Information Systmes (GIS)
  • Mechatronics
  • Robotics
  • Sustainable Engineering or related field
Terminal Degree Qualifications

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in field
  • Doctorate degree in Chemistry or Engineering (for EMA 4003)
  • Doctorate degree in Earth Science or Meteorology (for ESC 3704)
  • Doctorate degree in Biological Sciences (for BSC 3057)
  • Professional Doctorate degrees in field
  • Master of Engineering (NOT the M.S. Engineering)
Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated understanding of the learning centered approach to teaching with teaching experience and professional license.

Knowledge, Abilities & Skills

  • A personal and professional commitment to creating an atmosphere of quality instruction at SSC.
  • English reading, writing and speaking skills at the native level of fluency.
  • Ability to utilize technology and innovative pedagogy to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Understanding of and commitment to working with a diverse student population in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
