CPH is seeking a talented entry-level Project Engineer to join our dynamic and highly collaborative land development team in Sanford, FL.
The Project Engineer I supports project management activities by providing technical and administrative support throughout the project’s lifecycle. This role involves assisting with project planning, design, and execution while gaining hands-on experience in engineering best practices and project management. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in engineering principles, has strong organizational skills, and can work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in developing project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Prepare and maintain documentation such as reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Support the design and development of engineering solutions, including drafting and drawings.
- Conduct inspections and quality control to ensure high standards.
- Perform research and analysis to support project design and development.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Assist in preparing and evaluating proposals.
- Monitor projects to ensure adherence to engineering standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
- Prepare and present progress reports on project status.
- Stay updated with engineering technology and industry standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar platforms.
- AutoCAD experience is a plus.
- Critical thinking and sound independent judgment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects within schedules and budgets.
- Flexible work schedule to meet project deadlines.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated.
Education and Experience:
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience or internship.
- EI/EIT certification or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire.
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles, project management, and industry standards.
