Job Title:

Cabinet Fabricator

Flexjet, an award-winning organization, is seeking an experienced Cabinet Fabricator to join our interiors department in our in-house maintenance facility, located in Sanford, Florida. This role involves working on private aircraft, focusing on manufacturing and fabricating cabinets and interior components.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture and fabricate cabinets from raw materials such as wood, honeycomb, fiberglass, sheet metal, and veneers for aircraft interiors.
  • Construct interior components according to customer specifications.
  • Fabricate, fit, trim, and install interior components including galleys, bulkheads, doors, side ledges, and tables.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Inspect incoming cabinetry for damage and inventory accordingly.
  • Use proper interior nomenclature to protect and tag items for part identification.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals to complete tasks.
  • Complete all related paperwork thoroughly and accurately.
  • Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
  • Seek cross-training opportunities to develop technical skills and business knowledge.
  • Assist aircraft technicians as needed.
  • Ensure all installed items pass functional tests.
  • Perform other duties as required, including assisting engineering staff and draftsmen with drawings and renderings, and collaborating with DERs for structural data.
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least five years of experience in aviation cabinetmaking and fabrication preferred.
  • Experience in woodworking or wood finishing in a technical environment.
  • Cabinet installation experience, including fitting and trimming, preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to pass background checks and obtain an airport badge.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work involves exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. Occasionally, employees may encounter extreme weather conditions. The environment can be loud. Physically, employees must frequently stand, walk, handle tools, reach, and occasionally sit, climb, or lift objects up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
