Stepdown Registered Nurse

ICU Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – Sanford, FL

• Full-Time | Days or Nights (Rotating Weekends)
• Hourly Pay: $31.86 – $46.28 (based on experience)
• Shift Differentials: +$4.50/hr (Nights) | +$1.50/hr (Weekends)
• Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 (Days) | $20,000 (Nights – Urgent Need)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ICU Stepdown RN to join a skilled team providing care for patients who require frequent assessments and continuous monitoring. This 15-bed unit functions as a true intermediate care area—managing drips, ventilators, and complex conditions—with a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio (occasionally 4:1). You’ll work in a collaborative environment committed to teamwork, safety, and clinical excellence.

• Provide direct, continuous care to patients requiring stepdown or progressive care-level support.

• Perform frequent assessments and respond to rapid changes in patient status.

• Manage cardiac drips, ventilators, and other complex therapies safely and effectively.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate treatment and discharge plans.

• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and recovery care.

• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold safety and regulatory standards.

Required:

• Active RN license (Florida or Compact)

• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU Stepdown experience in an acute care setting

• ADN or Nursing Diploma

Preferred:

• BSN degree

• RNs with 3+ years of Cardiac or Multisystem PCU experience

• NIH Stroke Scale within 30 days of hire

• BLS within 30 days; ACLS within 6 months

• Hourly Range: $31.86 – $46.28 (based on experience)

• Shift Differentials: +$4.50/hr (Nights), +$1.50/hr (Weekends)

• Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 Days | $20,000 Nights (available through November 2025)
