Tradesworker

Skilled work at the journeyman level in the trades, involving maintenance and repair of park and trail facilities and amenities.

Performs duties in one or more of the following fields: electrical, carpentry, cabinetry, painting, plumbing, and masonry, as may be appropriate in the assigned trade. Maintains logs and records as required. Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and drawings which accompany assignments as required. Performs other duties as assigned or as may be necessary.

In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

High School Diploma, GED, or vocational trade school diploma with training emphasis in the applicable trade.

Thorough knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools and materials utilized in the assigned trade. Possess considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions involved with the trade.

Fully capable to work from sketches, plans, and blueprints. Ability to follow and transmit oral and written instructions effectively. Ability to supervise subordinates in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.

A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Drivers License.
