Are you an experienced and skilled Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic ready to take on a hands-on, high-impact role? At Jon M. Hall Company, you’ll be an essential part of our operations, responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy construction equipment at job sites across Central Florida. If you’re passionate about diagnostics, equipment repair, and working outdoors, we want you on our team!

Key Responsibilities: Equipment Diagnostics & Repair

• Install, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and more.
• Perform system checks using advanced diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Repair and overhaul engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Replace or fabricate parts using hand tools, power tools, welders, and cutting torches.
• Install and test non-OEM parts and electrical components for proper functionality.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain detailed service records.
• Order necessary parts and supplies and maintain a clean and organized work vehicle.

• Travel locally to active job sites to perform field repairs in varying weather and terrain conditions.
• Diagnose and address issues in real-time to keep operations running smoothly.
• Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards before returning equipment to service.

• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 2 years performing complex repairs on construction vehicles and equipment.
• Expertise in diesel and gas engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, and suspension.
• Must be proficient with welding, cutting torches, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow equipment manuals and repair guides.
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working in outdoor jobsite conditions.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Clean MVR and valid driver’s license required (you will operate a company vehicle).

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Professional demeanor with the ability to manage multiple tasks and follow-ups.
• Knowledge of the construction industry and field service best practices.
