The Painting Technician is responsible for surface preparation and the application of paint products in accordance with customer/client specifications. Typical items include transformers, breakers, and other substation equipment. Duties involve utilizing sprayers, brushes, rollers, and flow coating as needed, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including PPE usage.
• Apply paint products per NASS/Customer and SSPC specifications.
• Follow standard work, training guides, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Operate industrial paint equipment and hand tools.
• Maintain and clean spray guns, flow coat machines, and related equipment.
• Report inconsistencies or defects in material, product, or equipment.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by collaborating with customers, clients, co‑workers, and management.
• Help the company meet its quality and safety objectives.
• Understand basic electrical safety protocols, including clearances, approach distances, and LOTO.

• State‑issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% with short‑notice availability.
• Success in pre‑employment and random drug screens.
• Clean criminal background.
• Capacity to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Ability to work at heights from raised platforms, ladders, or stairs.
• Capability to stoop, crouch, kneel, bend, walk, sit, and stand for extended periods.

• Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a substation painter.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Minimum one year of related work experience.
• Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor or within a team.
