DEPARTMENT: Soccer Operations

WHAT SETS YOU APARTOrlando Pride is seeking a hardworking, positive, and passionate individual to join the Sports Performance Staff as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach / Sports Scientist. This role will support the Head of Performance and interdisciplinary staff (Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, Dietitian, Coaching Staff, etc.) in optimizing player health and performance. The position blends applied strength and conditioning responsibilities with sports science and data analysis to provide a holistic performance service to the team.
ESSENTIALDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the design and delivery of strength and conditioning programs, including gym sessions, warmups, and activations.
- Support daily training operations including fueling, hydration, and recovery logistics.
- Collect, clean, and analyze athlete data using technologies such as Vald, Stat Sports, Body Composition tools, USG, and Hudl.
- Develop systems to visualize, interpret, and report data for coaches and performance staff. Monitor player performance metrics on a daily, weekly, and longitudinal basis.
- Support individualized nutrition strategies (pre-, during, and post-training/match) in collaboration with the Dietitian.
- Contribute to ongoing research and applied projects to enhance performance processes.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality within a high-performance, professional team environment.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- CSCS certification (or accredited international equivalent).
- CPSS certification (or accredited international equivalent).
- Previous experience in strength & conditioning or performance analysis at the collegiate or professional level.
- Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office; proficiency with R, Python, or other statistical software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and accountable with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work nontraditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to attain and maintain Safe Sport certification.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Strong understanding and passion for the sport of soccer.
- Experience building dashboards or reporting systems (e.g., Power BI).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred).
- Master’s degree in Human Performance, Exercise Science, Data Science, or related field (preferred).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish/Portuguese (preferred).

The Lions have reached the postseason in five-consecutive seasons (2020-24), qualified for the Concacaf Champions Cup (formerly Concacaf Champions League) in both 2023 and 2024, and reached their first final in 2020 during the MLS is Back Tournament.
