Position: Inpatient Psychiatrist- York County

Overview

Join a mission-driven, multidisciplinary team at Maine Health Behavioral Health (MHBH) as an Inpatient Psychiatrist in our 40-bed adult psychiatric unit in Sanford, Maine. We are seeking both full-time and per diem psychiatrists to lead compassionate, team-based care for patients with complex psychiatric and psychosocial presentations. You will work alongside nurse practitioners, social workers, behavioral health specialists, and programming staff in a collaborative environment that values continuity of care, innovation, and work-life balance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead compassionate, team-based care for adult inpatients with complex psychiatric and psychosocial presentations.
  • Shape treatment plans and provide direct therapeutic and pharmacologic interventions.
  • Collaborate with nurse practitioners, social workers, behavioral health specialists, and programming staff to ensure continuity of care.
  • Contribute to a collegial, innovative clinical environment focused on patient outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic medical school. Completion of internship and psychiatric residency and/or fellowship training.
  • Current or eligible licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.
  • Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or eligible for examination by the American Board; documented by written evidence.
  • Board Certified or board eligible in general psychiatry. Current DEA Registration Certificate.
  • 3+ years' experience inclusive of residency and/or fellowship training.
  • Meet other credentialing criteria defined in Medical Staff By-laws.
