Mechanical Designer

A premier employer is seeking a Mechanical Designer with creative thinking and problem-solving skills for their team. This full-time, direct-hire role will work cross-functionally to support the design and sale of products at the company’s Sanford, ME facility.

• Work with a variety of team members and stakeholders including vendors, production, purchasing, customer service, senior management, finance, CAM, and engineering for the design and construction of new products and modification or customization to existing products
• Generate product and detailed drawings using engineering computer-aided design systems
• Generate and revise Bills of Material and Operations as described in the company’s design release process
• Research new product ideas, methods, and practices relating to products based on marketing and engineering directives; initialize development or co-develop technologies with other disciplines within the company
• Make every effort to focus on doing-it-right to ensure customer satisfaction

• Associate degree in engineering or design discipline and 2 years of related experience
• Experience with design and development of products and/or processes
• Experience with 3-D CAD, Solid Edge preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities to work on projects without supervision
• Able to listen to others’ ideas and incorporate their thoughts and concepts for overall better design
• Sheet metal experience preferred
