The UGE Laborer/Groundman is responsible for preparing and cleaning construction sites, loading and unloading building materials, operating equipment and machines, and assisting craft workers with their duties. This position supports the Construction team and collaborates with personnel within the department.

• Clean and prepare the construction site for work, removing debris and potential hazards.
• Assist the tradesmen in completing their skilled tasks more effectively.
• Identify utilities and monitor digging to prevent utility hits.
• Clean up and maintain equipment.
• Restock trucks with supplies to ensure crews have the proper tools and materials to complete the job.

Minimum

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• 1 year of experience.
• CDL Class A driver's license.

This job operates in a field environment. The role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, working in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. It may involve extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The position requires the ability to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and requires good vision and hand-eye coordination.

Color vision may be required.
