Warehouse Associate | 2nd Shift – Sanford, NC

At Central Garden & Pet we are seeking a Warehouse Associate for our 2nd Shift at our Sanford, NC location. The role involves picking customer orders, cleaning, packing, palletizing and loading finished goods, ensuring accuracy and safety in a fast‑paced environment.

• Communicate and understand directions.
• Perform duties with attention to detail.
• Learn and understand machine operating and safety procedures.
• Package, consolidate, wrap and/or load picked orders onto delivery trucks in the correct order and balance.
• Maintain accuracy while consolidating or loading.
• Show willingness to learn and work to the best of your abilities.
• Cross‑train and take on other positions within the department when needed.
• Rotate positions between various tasks in a timely manner.
• Multitask and prioritize work effectively.
• Work closely with other team members, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
• Help train new co‑workers on the department or other areas as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards, processes, procedures.
• Maintain a clean workplace to avoid tripping hazards or other accidents.
• Report mechanical problems or unsafe conditions to supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support all areas of the operation.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance; work extended hours as required by operational needs.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, stand, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, climb, carry for prolonged hours.
• Willingness to use/wear safety equipment provided by the company.
• Basic math skills (adding and subtracting).
• Understand and maintain the required quality level for day‑to‑day tasks.
• Handle heavy workflow while working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Become certified and safely operate electric pallet jack, reach truck, shrink wrapper, and/or other equipment if needed.
• Learn and understand SAP/Scanner functions.
• Wear safety glasses, safety vest and other PPE as required.
• Work full schedule:
  Monday–Friday from 3:30 pm – 12:00 am or Sunday–Thursday from 3:30 pm – 12:00 am (schedules subject to change).
