Job Title:
Laser Machine Operator (TL4)
Reports To:
Shop Foreman
FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt
1st & 2nd shift positions available
Pay: $17/hr - $20/hr - Direct Hire
Job Overview
Set-up, operate and observe Lasers or plasma cutting machine.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Setup, operate and perform typical laser cutting and welding operations on laser-beam machine.
- Make proper set-ups for cutting and welding operations.
- Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
- Select proper cutting and welding programs, and proper fixtures.
- Inspect work pieces for defects per ISO quality standards, and measure work pieces to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, or other measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot for cut quality and make adjustments.
- Be able to install, adjust, run open profiles, angles, and channels.
- All other duties as assigned.

Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Basic knowledge of computers
Education and or/experience
High School Diploma (GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required.
Personal Protective Equipment Requirements:
- Safety Glasses - ANSI Z87 - with side shields everywhere in the plant
- Sturdy Work Shoes - hard sole / leather uppers (no tennis shoes unless designed to meet OSHA safety standards)
- Hearing Protection
- Gloves as needed
