Cobblestone Fruit is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Grower Accountant to join its accounting team. This role plays a vital part in supporting the financial operations of the company and its affiliated entities by managing grower accounting processes with precision and integrity. The Grower Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of grower-related financial data, including crop settlements, harvest costs, and grower payables.

This position requires strong collaboration with internal departments, including operations, sales, and field teams, to ensure transparency and accountability in grower transactions. As a key contributor to the broader accounting function, the Grower Accountant will help maintain compliance with internal controls, support audit readiness, and drive continuous improvements in financial reporting that supports both company objectives and grower relationships.

Duties/Responsibilities

Collaborate with Packing and Field departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting and accounting on the following:

• Monitoring and reconciling grower packouts
• Analysis of field reporting

Provide grower support through detailed financial oversight and reporting of:

• Grower packout supervision
• Grower advances
• Production reporting

Coordinate monthly assessment reporting to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory entities:

• Citrus Research Board
• CDFA – Citrus Pest & Disease Program
• CDFA – Standardization and & CA Citrus Program

Collaborate with A/R Department and Inventory Specialist to ensure accurate pool accounting:

• Review of sales allocations to each grower pool
• Confirm inventory and sizer data for proper pool reconciliation

Lead pool close process with attention to accuracy and timelines

• Reconciliation of sales, inventory, charges and sizer data per pool
• Execute pool close and coordinate grower payments

Qualifications/Requirements

• Must have three (3) to five (5) years of accounting experience; preferably in agriculture, manufacturing, or another industry with cost accounting, pooled revenue, or inventory complexity.
• Experience with grower accounting, agriculture assessments, crop cost tracking, or pool reconciliation is highly preferred but can be trained for if the candidate has a solid accounting foundation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Agribusiness, or related field preferred.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficient with Famous software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Flexibility and adaptability in duties and assignments.
• Ability to work occasional overtime as required by the needs of the business.

Physical Demands & Abilities

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, working from a computer.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling of office equipment.
• Competitive compensation commensurate with experience, estimated at $70,000/year or higher
