Join our growing Southern California Transportation Team! HNTB is seeking a senior traffic project engineer to support high‑profile transportation projects including Brightline West, the I‑10 Freeway corridor, LA Metro and Caltrans Highway projects.
This role supports the Southern California traffic staff in a variety of transportation operational analysis and traffic design tasks, including traffic modeling, data analysis, design, estimating, specifications, and report writing on freeway corridors, arterials, and transit projects at various stages of development.
Responsibilities- Use senior‑level technical expertise to consider broad range of engineering solutions.
- Responsible for planning, work distribution, leadership, and adherence to schedule and budget on complex projects.
- Assist in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
- Develop scope of work, level of effort, and manage adherence to scope and budget.
- Oversee completeness and accuracy of the project team’s work.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
- Coordinate technical aspects of the project with client counterpart and teaming partners.
- Lead discipline delivery on multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Assist with coordination and planning of schedules and distribution of work for other disciplines on multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience.
- PhD in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience.
- 10 years of relevant experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE).
