Our rapidly growing client in OC is seeking to bring on a Senior Tax Accountant to their Indirect Tax team. Job Title: Senior Tax Accountant

Location: Near Santa Ana, CA

Type of Employment: Direct Hire

Base pay range: $90,000.00/yr - $/yr

Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 / Year

• Support the preparation, review, and filing of sales/use, business & occupancy, and gross receipts tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Review, validate, and approve customer exemption and resale certificates in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Administer and maintain the exemption/resale certificate management system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Process tax adjustments in the ERP system for qualified non-taxable sales.
• Advise internal teams on product taxability, jurisdictional requirements, and proper handling of resale/exemption certificates.
• Prepare and issue resale certificates for suppliers as needed.
• Research, interpret, and apply state and local tax laws, regulations, and legislative updates.
• Assist with audit readiness, documentation, and responses for sales/use tax examinations.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to sales and use tax activity.
• Reconcile sales and use tax accounts to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency and implement process improvements in tax operations.
• Support special projects and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• 4+ years of experience in indirect tax and accounting for a multi-state organization
• Experience with sales tax and exemption certificate software applications like Avalara preferred
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to shifting requirements in fast-paced environments
• Strong collaborative skills with the ability to build and leverage cross-functional relationships
• Advanced in Microsoft Excel and able to learn new systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interpret complex regulations and prepare reports, correspondence, and procedural documentation.

• The salary range for this role is $90K - $110K depending upon experience
