This is a 1–3-month contract opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on mutual fit. The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting operations, support strategic financial initiatives, and ensure compliance across diverse funding streams. On-site Monday, Wednesday, Friday in Santa Ana, CA.

What you will work on

• Lead and mentor a team of 7–8 Senior and Staff Accountants through full-cycle month-end close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee cash flow planning and reporting, with a focus on sustainability and transparency across nonprofit funding sources.
• Drive automation of manual accounting processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk;
  Quick Books experience preferred.
• Manage restricted asset accounting, ensuring compliance with nonprofit contract terms, grant allocations, and fund restrictions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support financial reporting, budgeting, and audit readiness in a mission-driven environment.

What you will bring

• Proven experience in nonprofit accounting, preferred with specific restricted asset/fund accounting and grant compliance, required.
• Government contract experience, highly desired.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Proficiency in Quick Books and other accounting software.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• CPA or equivalent credential preferred but not required.

• Compensation commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.
• Pay Range: $65/hr-$80/hr
