We are seeking an experienced Food Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor. The Food Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily maintenance activities within a food production facility to ensure optimal equipment functionality, safety, and compliance with industry regulations. This role is responsible for supervising maintenance technicians, scheduling preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and ensuring minimal downtime in production operations.
The Food Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor works closely with production, quality assurance, and safety teams to uphold food safety standards and ensure that all maintenance work adheres to company and regulatory guidelines.
- Direct maintenance staff by leading, instructing, and assigning work assignments
- Fosters a culture that does not tolerate equipment failures and seeks to understand and eliminate the causes using techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Track daily maintenance assignments, goals and objectives
- Ensures standard reliability and maintenance work processes are followed.
- Implements and tracks maintenance KPIs
- Provide a review of equipment downtime and overtime working to improve costs
- Document corrective action on preventive maintenance performed.
- Analyzes operational data and equipment performance history to deliver improvements in critical maintenance related metrics / KPIs related to asset reliability
- Develops and leads the plant’s reliability improvement processes, focusing on increasing equipment uptime and reducing maintenance-related costs.
- Collaborates closely with maintenance technicians and mechanics to ensure timely completion of corrective work orders and preventive maintenance (PM) tasks.
- Effectively schedules maintenance resources by aligning mechanic skillsets with job requirements and coordinating around production line availability to minimize downtime.
- Designs and executes maintenance strategies to consistently achieve or exceed plant availability targets of 90% or higher.
- Conducts periodic benchmarking of plant maintenance and reliability performance against internal standards and industry best practices to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Must be able to demonstrate strong technical problem-solving skills, critical thinking and proven project management experience with coordination of multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications- Education : Minimum Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent 2 year college or technical school recommended; or 2 year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience : 5+ years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or other regulated production environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role
- T echnical Skills : Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial technologies.
- Experience with PLCs, automated systems, and food processing equipment.
- Proficient in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
- Soft Skills : Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach and develop maintenance teams.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey ideas and instructions both verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization
- Ability to develop strategic partnerships across the company and with third party contractors to increase overall reliability.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to grasp, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and communicate clearly by talking and hearing.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel and crouch throughout the shift.
