Machine precision aerospace components according to customer specifications while adhering to specific quality, production, and scheduling requirements. Availability on first and second shift.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Read and understand work instructions such as fixture alignment, tooling information, and part loading instructions.
- Set up and operate CNC lathe or multi‑axis milling machining centers according to engineering specifications, instructions, GD&T, and operation sheets. Knowledge of manual machines is a plus.
- Pick up work offsets and tram tools to run true.
- Understand cutter compensation and make the correct offset adjustment to ensure a quality part.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tool holders for a given job.
- Perform basic edits to G‑code to ensure product conformity.
- Read and interpret engineering instructions, travelers, and blueprints and be familiar with geometric tolerances and principles.
- Perform routine maintenance on assigned production equipment, maintain cleanliness of work area and machinery, check equipment fluids, and alert maintenance personnel or supervisor of malfunctions.
- Operate lifting and handling equipment such as hand truck, pallet jack, or overhead hoist to maneuver in‑process or finished components to desired location.
$30.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Knowledge of in‑process inspection techniques, standards, and requirements. Able to use and interpret precision measuring devices such as micrometers, verniers, and various hand tools, including gauges, to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Knowledge of metal characteristics in a production setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of programming codes is helpful.
- Good verbal and written communication, math, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well with colleagues, supervision and management.
- Ability to work and problem‑solve independently.
- 3‑5 years CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
- Fully capable of reading, understanding, and following written and oral work instructions in English.
- Ability to lift or transfer components or objects of no more than 50 pounds.
- Basic math skills.
