POSITION SUMMARY

Composite Technician IV is a hands‑on role, whose primary responsibility is performing a wide variety of composite plying, layup, fabrication, and assembly tasks. Additionally, Composite Technician Level IV will be responsible for the mentoring and training of Level I, II and III composite technicians. Including the ability to lead a team and/or special projects along with assisting company engineers and customer engineers.

POSITION

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES
  • Engineering blueprint interpretation
  • Read and interpret work instructions and work orders.
  • Mold surface preparation and maintenance.
  • Composites material kitting.
  • Perform lamination of pre-preg and wet Lay-up composite materials.
  • Assemble molds to yield conforming composite structures.
  • Perform vacuum bagging operations of large composite structures.
  • Complete trimming operations, yielding close tolerances, using fixtures and various hand tools.
  • Performs composite lamination using VRTM & RTM techniques
  • Performs composite lamination using wet layup techniques
  • Lamination of complex structures using smart tooling techniques
  • Assist Engineers in the design and production of carbon and fiberglass molds.
  • Provide support to internal engineers and customer engineers.
  • Structure repair
  • Ability to lead a team or project.
  • Provide mentorship and training to other composite technicians.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
  • Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing, and pulling of materials.
  • Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
  • Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
  • Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Required Safety Glasses
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires an on‑site presence. Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment and may be noisy k may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
