Jewish Federation of Orange County seeks a passionate, mission-driven professional to support our community relations and antisemitism prevention work. This role is critical in building partnerships, fostering allyship, deepening relationships with elected officials, and coordinating meaningful initiatives that make a lasting impact in Orange County and beyond.

Key Responsibilities Community & Government Relations
  • Represent Federation at local, state, and national meetings to advocate on issues affecting Jewish Orange County.
  • Deepen relationships with elected and public officials at all levels of government.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with ethnic, racial, interfaith, and civic organizations aligned with Federation’s mission.
  • Support the organization’s community response efforts during times of crisis or increased antisemitic activity.
  • Staff the Rose Council (Federation’s Community Relations committee) and its subcommittees.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and background materials.
  • Provide logistical and programmatic support for meetings and initiatives.
  • Maintain regular communication with lay leadership.
Program Coordination
  • Support and help coordinate Student to Student, Federation’s signature teen‑led program that combats antisemitism through peer education.
  • Support the planning and execution of Federation’s annual Countering Hate conference, a key community summit focused on antisemitism and hate prevention.
Additional Duties
  • Assist with external communications, public affairs content, and relationship tracking.
  • Collaborate with Federation departments to ensure cross‑organizational alignment.
  • Take on other projects and responsibilities as needed to advance the Community Relations agenda.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Profile

This position is ideal for an early‑to‑mid‑career professional looking to grow within the Jewish communal or nonprofit advocacy space. You will work closely with and support the Senior Director, Community Relations in advancing Federation’s priorities across sectors.

Required
  • 2+ years of experience in a related field (community organizing, nonprofit, advocacy, government, education, or Jewish communal work).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive.
  • Comfort with public speaking and program/event support.
  • Knowledge of Jewish communal life and current events.
  • Familiarity with government and/or public affairs processes.
  • Passion for building inclusive communities and combating antisemitism.
  • Experience working with teens or in youth education settings.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and virtual meeting tools (Zoom, Google Workspace, etc.).
