About the Role:
The Emergency Room Charge Nurse 12hr (PT
- Days) plays a critical leadership role in managing the daily operations of the emergency department during their shift. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care by coordinating nursing staff, prioritizing patient needs, and facilitating effective communication among multidisciplinary teams. The Charge Nurse acts as a resource and mentor to nursing personnel, providing guidance and support to maintain clinical excellence and adherence to hospital policies.
They are responsible for overseeing patient flow, managing emergencies, and resolving any issues that arise to maintain a safe and efficient environment. Ultimately, this role is essential in promoting optimal patient outcomes and a positive work atmosphere within the emergency department.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice within the United States.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an emergency department setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Demonstrated leadership or charge nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing protocols, patient assessment, and triage procedures.
