Director of Quality

Experienced Director or Quality with ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced, hands‑on manufacturing environment. Must be reliable, accountable, adaptable, and possess proficiency in problem solving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality Assurance:

• Quality Systems Implementation and Registration – AS 9100, ISO 9001
• Fabcon Santa Ana Quality Program
• Document Control Program
• Maintain SQA:
  Vendor Rating, Vendor Auditing, Communication with vendors on quality Related Issues
• Oversee Internal Auditing Program
• Management Review QMS Metrics, KPIs, and Reporting
• Maintain Calibration System
• Manage Direct Reports:
  Document Control Clerk, 1st & 2nd Shift Inspectors and Leads, Valencia QC Mgr.
• Statistical Process Control
• SAM Registration
• ITAR Program and Registeration
• Customer and 3rd Party Registrar Audits for AS 9100, ISO 9001, & Welder Certification
• Lockheed‑Martin AWS D1.2 Welder Certification Program
• Customer Surveys
• NIST 800-171 Cyber Security Program Implementation
• PCI/P2PE Security Program
• Generate RMA Work Orders
• Contract/Spec Reviews, pre‑award and post award
• RCCA
• Pre- & Post‑Award Contract Review
• Gage R&R
• Process Control
• Process Validation
• PPAP/MPAP Generation
• CMM Program and Report Generation
• Defect Evaluation and Failure Analysis
• Training for: GD&T, Metrology, Process Control, Welding, Welding Inspection, SPC, CMM Operation, and Basic Electronics
• NRTL Programs: UL General Coverage Program, Product NRTL Construction Evaluation and Qualification Testing
• UL Quarterly Inspections
• New Product Wiring Diagrams
• New product – Kiosk and Digital Signage Product Labeling

Environmental, Health, and Safety:

• Manage Hazardous and Non‑Hazardous Collection, Storage, Marking, and Waste Disposal
• Generation of Job Hazzard Assessments
• PPE Requirements
• Regulatory Agency Reporting and Associated Metrics for entries such as:
  Waterboards,
• Safety and EHS Meetings
• Safety and EH&S Gemba Walks and Facility Audits
• Training for:
  Spill Control, MSDS – Right‑to‑know,
• Manage Storm Water Collection, processing, and submittal

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• 4 year college degree required in a related field of study
• 5 Years of Quality Engineering experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, required.
• Good technical writing skills required

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Statistics, Algebra, and Basic Math Skills

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• ASQ Certified Quality Mgr a plus
• Six‑Sigma Lean - Green or Black Belt Desired

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires little bending, stooping, or kneeling throughout a typical day. Involves a blend of shop time and office time.
