Description
Under general supervision, the Field Service Technician performs maintenance, repair, and installation of pumps, motors, hydraulic valves, and related piping and electrical systems used in booster stations and water pumping facilities. This role includes preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and operating diagnostic and rigging equipment. Technicians work independently in the field while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Must‑HaveSkills, Experience, and Education
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience
- Strong understanding of water pump operation and hydraulic systems
- Ability to install, maintain, and repair pumps, motors, and valves
- Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance at customer sites
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a dynamic service schedule
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to operate service trucks, cranes, forklifts, and related tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to safe work practices and accurate service documentation
- Veteran or civilian technician background strongly considered
- Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Background servicing municipal, industrial, irrigation, or commercial pumping systems
- Electrical troubleshooting experience related to motors and control systems
- Prior field service or customer‑ facing technical role
