Salary Range: $260,000–$275,000 (budgeted) or $223,942–$297,493 annually
Work Schedule:
Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm (may include Thursday evenings until 7 pm)
Remote/Hybrid:
Primarily in person, hybrid may be available.

Duties and Responsibilities- Provide direct clinical services in primary care (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) for UCSB students, staff, and faculty.
- Diagnose and treat outpatient conditions, including chronic disease management and behavioral health referrals.
- Offer mental health care for conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders with psychiatric backup.
- Manage a broad range of primary‑care conditions (infectious disease, minor trauma, dermatology, sports medicine, sexual health, gender‑affirming care, gynecology, travel medicine).
- Maintain accurate medical records compliant with Student Health policies.
- Serve as clinical supervisor for nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other clinical staff; supervise schedule‑II‑V controlled substances per protocol.
- Participate in continuing education, clinic committees, and specialized duties for the Medical Director.
- Provide consultations and support for the Student Health executive team as needed.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Active California Medical License and DEA registration.
- Board‑certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine; certification verified by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; computer literate.
- Experience with mental or behavioral health care, preventative care, and primary‑care needs.
- 1–3 years of postgraduate clinical experience.
- Training or work experience in sexual and reproductive health.
- Experience performing minor outpatient procedures (e.g., suturing, I&D).
- Must complete background check and credentialing before start date.
- Must maintain annual influenza vaccination or wear surgical mask during flu season.
- Must complete annual TB screening and respirator fit testing.
- Needs current California medical and DEA licenses; must remain board‑certified.
- May be required to work evenings or respond to emergencies outside of normal hours.
- Compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, child‑abuse reporting, and UCSB tobacco‑free policy.
