Flowers & Associates is looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to work on challenging projects and contribute to community infrastructure in Santa Barbara and surrounding areas. Job Type: Full‑time

Work Location: In person preferred with hybrid or remote options for qualified candidates

Base Salary: $50.00 – $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 hours per week

• BS or MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• 5‑10 years of civil engineering experience
• Registered PE in California
• Experience in land development, grading, civil design, water, sewer, storm drain systems, and water & wastewater projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering design tools
• Strong oral, written, and technical writing skills for reports, proposals, and documentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam for document management
• Excellent organizational skills, including planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple tasks
• Experience in construction observation to ensure compliance with design specifications
• Previous experience supervising others and working collaboratively
• Effective problem‑solving and critical thinking skills

• Design and prepare project plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports for Public Works Infrastructure and Land Development projects
• Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects
• Perform complex calculations and use specialized software to ensure accurate project specifications
• Prepare and present project proposals to clients, including cost estimates and timelines
• Communicate with clients regarding the status of scope, schedule, and budget during planning, design, and construction
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, agency staff, and other professionals to ensure project success
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address issues, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
• Supervise and/or coordinate work with other engineers or technicians
• Maintain consistent high quality of professionalism and engineering design work
