MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Senior IT Technician, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the customer.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of everything from countdown clocks to telemetry circuits, and you directly safeguard launch operations and enable seamless coordination between the customer and its mission partners.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and maintain critical voice, video, and data systems, including fiber/copper cabling and high-speed computer networks.
- Execute real‑time configuration changes during launch operations and manage trouble tickets from generation to resolution.
- Service diverse equipment ranging from DICES voice systems and CCTV to telemetry circuits, timing systems, and LMR equipment.
- Partner with customers to isolate cable faults and resolve cross-agency circuit issues.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including tower climbing and working in confined spaces (trenches, tunnels, and launch platforms).
- Develop preventative maintenance plans, manage spare parts inventory, and document all actions through formal test and status reports.
- Participate in special projects as required.
- Education:
Technical training, certification(s), or degree. - Experience:
3+ years of related experience. - Technical skills:
Electronic testing, network & data systems, RF & communication systems, video & audio systems, specialized launch equipment systems, preventive maintenance. - Security clearance level: NAC‑I.
- US citizenship required.

Must be comfortable working at heights (towers/lifts) and in confined spaces (launch pads/tunnels).

Scheduled weekly hours: 40 hours per week.
Travel required:
10–25%.
