Corporate Counsel – Yardi

Waltham, MA (remote options up to 35%)
Join our dynamic legal team as Corporate Counsel and play a key role in navigating complex litigation and compliance matters—especially those tied to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). You’ll tackle a mix of legal, regulatory, and business disputes, guide outside counsel, and craft smart strategies to mitigate risk and streamline processes. From analyzing contracts to advising leadership on compliance and evolving regulations, you’ll help shape how we protect and grow the business.
This is a hands‑on, litigation‑focused role where your courtroom instincts, strategic thinking, and legal expertise will directly shape our success.
- Take the lead on managing and resolving litigation matters, particularly those involving the FCRA and other regulatory disputes.
- Provide a range of legal, regulatory, and business support, guidance, and advice to internal teams.
- Draft, negotiate, and finalize sales agreements, contracts, and other documents to protect the company and contribute to its success.
- Law degree from an ABA‑accredited law school.
- Active Bar membership in the United States with no record of discipline.
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant legal experience, with meaningful commercial litigation experience.
- Litigation management experience in both state and federal court.
- Basic understanding of or ability to learn about software development, complex relational databases, cloud computing, and SaaS.
- Highest level of professional ethics, personal integrity, and sound judgment.
- Superlative oral and written communication skills.
- Strong and demonstrated ability to work individually and as a team, under pressure, with minimal supervision, and while managing many competing priorities.
- Working knowledge of or ability to learn about the FCRA, consumer reporting, and tenant screening.
- Interest in learning and analyzing complex statutes (including the FCRA), case law, and other primary and secondary sources with the ability to provide clear and sound conclusions and recommendations.
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat®, Microsoft® Word, Outlook, and ability to learn and use proprietary customer/matter management software.
- Friendly, collegial, and collaborative disposition.
- Ability to travel up to 35 % of the time.
- A mix of law firm and in‑house legal experience.
- Risk assessment and management experience a plus.
- Familiarity working with software developers a plus.

CompensationAnnual Salary Range: $168,000 – $189,000
