Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the overall success of enterprise-level projects, including time and resource management, financial planning, scope management, issue and risk management, organizational change management, and project execution. It plans, directs, and monitors the work produced by the extended project team, including planning and implementing appropriate quality assurance activities. The role manages stakeholder relationships, negotiates scope and schedule changes, resolves key risks and issues, and reports progress.
As an organizational change management (OCM) expert, the position develops, leads, and manages effective change and communication plans for large business transformation projects. It works closely with senior campus stakeholders to plan events and develop talking points for high‑level consensus‑building meetings and high‑visibility campus events.
- Program Management (50%)
- Manage concurrent and multiple large‑scale ERP software implementations and business process redesign projects.
- Develop campus implementation plan, schedules, metrics, and tools.
- Collaborate with other Project Managers to integrate other systems.
- Oversee campus program plan incorporating schedule, milestones, resources, and status.
- Track work of project work groups and provide status updates.
- Manage complex project schedules and inter‑project dependencies.
- Identify potential project issues and risks; recommend mitigation.
- Escalate issues to project sponsors and stakeholders as appropriate.
- Frame issues and risks for discussion by senior leadership.
- Organizational Change Management (30%)
- Develop OCM strategy for large business transformation projects.
- Build detailed OCM work plans for change, communications, training, and organization design.
- Guide OCM team on strategy execution; monitor and report progress.
- Design stakeholder engagement plan via assessments.
- Plan meetings, develop talking points, and presentation materials for senior stakeholders.
- Assess change impacts and define appropriate actions.
- Drive organizational change using town halls, surveys, and focus groups.
- Partner across the university to provide change management guidance.
- Lead continual improvement efforts for change activities.
- Execute change readiness assessments and support hyper‑care and sustainability strategy.
- Project Management (20%)
- Act as project leader with advanced professional concepts.
- Guide management on issue resolution.
- Translate campus guidance into organizational strategies and practices.
- Plan project time, costs, and human resources; develop estimates, schedules, and financial plans.
- Develop scope statements, change control process, and Work Breakdown Structure.
- Manage contract terms, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
- Manage issues and risks from identification to resolution.
- Apply risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Establish quality assurance activities and deliverable management plan.
- Communicate stakeholder expectations and progress.
- Coordinate vendor partners, subcontractors, and other third‑party vendors.
- Manage contractor coordination for UCSB projects.
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in business, human resource management, information systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years progressive broad‑based management experience in a complex human resources organization.
