OR Circulator - Ambulatory Services Nurse

Job Summary: Accountable for the assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation during the pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative phases of nursing care. Assists the physician during surgery and procedures by functioning in the circulating role. Develops, implements, manages and coordinates an optimal interdisciplinary care plan that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships among patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communication.
Adheres to policies, industry standards, best practices and applicable laws, regulations, and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience. Engages in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice.
- Perform assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of nursing care.
- Assist physicians during surgery and procedures in a circulating role.
- Develop, implement, manage, and coordinate interdisciplinary care plans incorporating psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
- Maintain collaborative relationships between patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communication.
- Adhere to policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws, regulations, and codes.
- Engage in continuous professional growth and development.
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree from an accredited nursing school.
- RN licensure in California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Department‑specific certifications as required:
- Peninsula Eye Surgery Center: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
- PACU & Periop: ACLS.
- PACU & Periop: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- ASC: ACLS.
- ASC: PALS.
- SOPS: ACLS.
- SOPS (Any Pediatric): PALS.
- SMF‑Sutter Fairfield Surgery Center: ACLS.
Minimum 2 years of recent relevant nursing experience.
Skills and Knowledge- Knowledge and competence in nursing theories, concepts and practices, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Working knowledge of healthcare industry safety policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook) and Electronic Health Records.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to meet objectives and deadlines.
- Excellent teamwork and independent work capabilities, managing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
- Problem‑solving skills to evaluate and resolve standard problems using appropriate solutions.
- Commitment to protecting patient PHI privacy.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers.

Job Requirements.
- Shift: Days, 8‑hour shift, Monday‑Friday.

Pay Range: $54.99 to $79.73 per hour. Salary may vary based on location and experience.
