Job Description

We are a small and friendly accounting firm in Santa Clara seeking a Full Time Tax Preparer for Tax Season. We provide Tax, Payroll, Bookkeeping and business consulting services to individual and business clients in a casual environment. We focus on continuous improvements, providing exceptional customer service, and delivering timely, professional, high-quality work to our clients.

We are looking for an Tax Preparer to assist in the preparation of tax returns for multiple clients. QB Bookkeeping and Payroll processing experience is not required but can be helpful.
We would also like that person to be CTEC certified (or equivalent) and have experience preparing taxes, preferably with Lacerte. Acute attention to detail is a must. Experience with foreign financial and bank account reporting as well as foreign income reporting (Forms 2555 and 1116) is a plus.

It’s crucial for applicants to have a very high level of comfort and skill using computers and multiple screens, in documenting billable time and client interactions, and experience keeping meticulous work and document trails, particularly paperless (digital) work papers as we are a paperless office.

Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, use of cloud-based systems and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good interpersonal relations with the ability to communicate clearly. This is a temporary Full Time position with possibility of becoming full time. Employee compensation will be based on experience.

Requirements:

  • B/S or M/S in Accounting
  • Proficient in Intuit Lacerte or compatible tax software
  • CTEC – 2022/2023 Certified
  • Proficient in MS Office - Outlook, Excel & Word.
  • Excellent people and listening skills
  • Ability to multi-task and change direction quickly
  • Ability to prioritize, work quickly and take initiative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Be a team-player
