The Agency Recruiting is representing a client in need of a creative and meticulous Landscape Designer. The successful candidate will blend artistic execution with technical proficiency to design landscapes that enhance functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal. Collaborating closely with civil engineers, architects, and clients, the Landscape Designer will contribute to diverse projects, including public spaces, commercial properties, residential gardens, and green infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Development:
The Landscape Designer will create conceptual designs, site plans, and detailed drawings using tools such as AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and Adobe Creative Suite. - Collaboration:
The role involves working with civil engineers, architects, and project managers to integrate landscape designs with site infrastructure, ensuring compliance with zoning, environmental, and engineering standards. - Client Engagement:
The Landscape Designer will present design concepts to clients, incorporating feedback to refine plans and achieve project objectives. - Plant and Material Selection:
The position requires specifying plants, hardscapes, and sustainable materials that align with project aesthetics, budgets, and local climate conditions. - Technical Documentation:
The Landscape Designer will prepare construction documents, including planting plans, irrigation layouts, and grading plans, to facilitate project execution. - Site Analysis:
The role includes conducting site assessments to evaluate topography, soil, drainage, and environmental factors, informing design decisions. - Sustainability Focus:
The Landscape Designer will incorporate eco-friendly practices, such as native plantings, stormwater management, and low-maintenance designs, to promote environmental responsibility. - Project Management:
The position involves assisting in managing project timelines, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring designs are implemented as envisioned.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or a related field is required.
- Experience:
The candidate should have 2-5 years of experience in landscape design, ideally within a landscape or civil engineering firm. - Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and Microsoft Office is essential.
- Familiarity with GIS or other site analysis tools is advantageous.
- Design Skills: A strong sense of aesthetics, spatial composition, and plant knowledge, demonstrated through a portfolio of diverse projects, is required.
- Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for client presentations and team collaboration. - Certifications:
Landscape Architecture licensure (or in progress) or relevant certifications (e.g., LEED, SITES) are preferred but not mandatory. - Attributes:
