Deaf & Hard of Hearing Teacher (D/HH)

AB Staffing is seeking an experienced D/HH Teacher for the 2025/2026 school year.

Requirements:

• Washington State Educational Staff Associate Certification (ESA) with appropriate endorsement
• Valid Teaching License in California with Deaf & Hard of Hearing certification
• Proficiency in the subject area; experience with case management, paperwork, compliance, and IEPs
• At least one year of teaching experience with students with disabilities, including behavior disorders and cognitive delays (preferred)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and demonstrate initiative
• Physical ability to stand or sit for extended periods, see and read printed and digital materials, hear and understand speech, and lift up to 40 pounds as needed

Job Description:

Position details vary by school location. Recruitment specialists will discuss specific classroom assignments during the application process. The contract runs through the 2025/2026 school year, 35-40 hours per week, following the academic calendar.

Essential Functions:

• Provide expertise to school teams, working with students with hearing loss to deliver appropriate educational services and assess needs
• Write IEPs, provide direct 1:1 and small group services, and consult with staff to support communication and educational attainment
• Travel to schools as needed to serve students with hearing loss
• Collect information, administer assessments, and evaluate student abilities in listening, phonological awareness, auditory skills, and communication
• Conduct classroom observations, recommend accommodations, and work with interpreters for assessment and instruction

Salary:

$2,898 – $3,388 per week
