Intel NPU organization is dedicated to research and development for the future of AI – unprecedented scale for enabling machine intelligence on Edge, desktop, and mobile computers. In this position, you will serve as a senior technical member in the NPU architecture performance COE (center-of-excellence) team. The primary responsibility of the team includes developing the next generation NPU architecture performance model and conducting performance analysis using models from various benchmarking suites or customer end-to-end use cases.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Sets the strategic and technical design of AI frameworks, protocols, algorithms/topologies, and optimizations.

• Makes high level design choices focused on manageability, scalability, usability, resiliency, availability, security, and/or safety for the software structure, protocols, and algorithms.

• Determines coding, development tools, validation, and standards compliance requirements.

• Collaborates with management, product owners, and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.

• Performs pathfinding, surveys technologies, participates in standards committees, and presents at external and internal events.

• May interact with multiple technologists in the company to influence architectures and optimize/customize software offerings.

• Prior experience in architecture definition and/or mentoring junior engineers is highly desirable.

You must possess the minimum education requirements and minimum required qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Qualifications could be obtained through a combination of schoolwork, classes, research, and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

• The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related engineering field with 4+ years of relevant experience Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or related engineering field with 3+ years of relevant experience
  -OR
  - PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related engineering field

• 3+ years of experience in any of the following:

  • Computer Architecture
  • Hardware Modeling and Design
  • Artificial Intelligence

• Experience in Software Engineering

The Software and AI (SAI) Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services. The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of Intel’s market segments.

The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $- USD.
