Sr. Estimator

Joseph J. Albanese, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sr. Estimator to join our team. The Sr. Estimator's responsibilities include preparing accurate and competitive bids, reviewing project plans and specifications, conducting site visits, and collaborating with clients and suppliers. • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for construction projects, including labor, material, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Analyze project plans and specifications, and identify any potential risks, opportunities, or discrepancies.
• Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to gather relevant information and clarify project requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate quotes from contractors/subcontractors and suppliers and negotiate the best terms and prices.
• Prepare and submit bid proposals and supporting documents to clients and follow up on the status and outcome of the bids.
• Review contracts and change orders ensuring compliance with project specifications and company policies.
• Manage and update the estimation database and software, and maintain accurate records of bid documents, revisions, and correspondence.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, best practices, and market conditions, and adjust the estimation strategies accordingly.

NOTE:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience estimating construction projects, preferably in the commercial or industrial sector.
• Proficient in using estimation software, such as HCSS, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations, especially related to concrete work.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

• General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, bending.
• Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
