Job DescriptionOracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is the first cloud built specifically for the enterprise. The Hardware Engineer team works closely to define, design and integrate the next generation of Oracle’s Cloud servers and systems. As a Hardware Validation Engineer you will gain expertise using advanced high‑speed test equipment and post‑processing analysis applications to qualify our latest leading‑edge server designs. Your efforts will help us qualify the hardware platforms upon which Oracle builds its Cloud and high‑end vertically integrated engineered systems.
Responsibilities- Use advanced high‑speed test equipment and post‑processing analysis applications to qualify the latest server designs.
- Conduct thorough validation of hardware platforms, ensuring they meet stringent quality standards for Oracle’s Cloud and high‑end engineered systems.
- Participate in design reviews and generate test plans.
- Apply working knowledge of measurement techniques and utilize lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi‑meters and signal analyzers.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of digital and analog circuits, semiconductor devices, and microcontroller and embedded systems design.
- Conduct signal analysis and processing, with a focus on digital systems.
- Apply theoretical background in high‑frequency design techniques and run high‑speed I/O tests to validate hardware performance.
- Employ strong problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues.
- Partner with both internal teams (software engineering, mechanical engineering, compliance, safety and product teams) and external suppliers and manufacturers.
- Maintain awareness of market trends and advancements in hardware technology.
Minimum Qualifications )
- Have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related engineering field by June 2026.
- Have academic coursework, projects, internship and/or research experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Oscilloscope, Multi‑Meters, Signal Analyzers, CAD/PCB tools
- Are proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: C/C++, Assembly language, Shell scripting, Perl, Python.
- Have academic coursework, projects, internship and/or research experience in three or more of the following technical areas:
- Computer Architecture, VLSI, Digital/Analog Circuits, Microelectronics Circuits, Microprocessor Design, Embedded Systems, Microcontrollers, Semiconductor Devices, Operating Systems (Linux and Windows), Intel and/or AMD CPU/chipset architecture, Printed Circuit Board design and assembly process, Signals Analysis and Processing, Digital Systems, Prototyping/testing, Desoldering/Soldering components or equivalent to the above.
- Ability to read and comprehend related technical documents including electrical schematics, product, component and electrical interface specifications.
- Reside in the United States and/or attend a university in the US.
- Able to obtain work authorization in the US in 2026.
