Tax Director, Private Wealth (High Net Worth Tax Practice)

Salary Range: $191,260 – $362,600 (actual compensation varies with experience, qualifications and geographic location).

Responsibilities

• Provide compliance and consulting services to high‑net‑worth individuals, multi‑generational affluent families, family offices and private businesses or investment entities.

• Conduct technical reviews of complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S‑corps, trusts, estates, gifts, and state taxes.

• Lead multiple engagements delivering proactive tax planning and strategic consulting, including federal estate, gift, charitable, and generation‑skipping tax planning.

• Advise on business succession planning and apply industry trends and technical authorities to complex situations.

• Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.

• Build, nurture, and expand relationships within and outside the firm, leveraging entrepreneurial skills.

• Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in firm‑wide learning programs.

• Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care & Teach philosophy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

• CPA, EA, JD/LLM required.

• Eight (8) or more years of experience in tax return review and planning for wealthy individuals, family members, trusts, investment entities, and private businesses, including personal, trust, estate & gift, charitable, flow‑through, partnership and corporate taxation.

• Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience, mentoring, and counseling associates.

• Ability to lead and supervise, provide exceptional client service, and demonstrate a strong ethical commitment and sense of urgency for quality and timely completion of projects.

• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is highly preferred.
