About this opportunityEricsson Ventures (EV) is seeking a Vice President to join its investment team in the USA. In this role, you will play a central part in identifying, evaluating, executing, and supporting venture investments. This is not a purely analytical position — we are looking for a credible, externally oriented investor who can develop proprietary deal flow, build trusted relationships with founders and ecosystem participants, and help portfolio companies create value.
EV operates as a flat organization guided by a mission to deliver strong returns through investments that provide strategic insight and/or support Ericsson's operations.
- Originate and develop investment opportunities aligned with EV's thesis, stage, ownership targets, and check size.
- Build and maintain relationships with founders, entrepreneurs, co-investors, executives, and university and research communities.
- Develop sector theses and market maps, identifying emerging companies, technical shifts, and competitive dynamics.
- Lead founder meetings and assess team quality, market attractiveness, product differentiation, and return profile.
- Drive end-to-end due diligence across customer, product, technical, financial, legal, and cap-table dimensions.
- Prepare high-quality investment memos and present recommendations and risks to the investment committee.
- Lead term sheet analysis, deal structuring, legal documentation review, and manage the closing process.
- Serve as a liaison between portfolio companies and relevant Ericsson operating units.
- Collaborate with founders and management teams on go-to-market strategy, recruiting, partnerships, and fundraising.
- Monitor portfolio performance and evaluate follow-on investments, secondary opportunities, and exit considerations.
- Support the growth of junior investment professionals and contribute to fund strategy and process improvement.
- 8–10+ years of relevant experience in venture investing, growth equity, and/or operating roles at high-growth technology companies.
- Demonstrated track record of sourcing opportunities, building founder and executive relationships, and exercising sound investment judgment.
- Strong financial, analytical, market research, and business writing skills, with the ability to create concise, decision-useful investment materials.
- Direct investing experience at a venture capital, growth equity, corporate venture, or crossover fund is preferred.
- Experience in EV's target domains: AI infrastructure, communications, enterprise software, cloud, data, cybersecurity, semiconductors, or industrial technology.
- Technical fluency sufficient to evaluate products, architectures, and engineering teams in EV's areas of focus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work constructively with founders, boards, co-investors, and internal colleagues.
- An MBA, advanced technical degree, or equivalent experience is welcome but not required.
