Regional Support Clinical Dietitian – Northern California
Location: Northern California and surrounding West Region
Schedule: 10/4 or 5/2 – Business Needs
Requirement: Must be a Registered Dietitian with a valid CDR #
Position Details: Provides clinical support to regional accounts (not a management role). Requires extensive overnight travel – up to 100% to sites across the assigned region.

The Registered Dietitian is the key contact with guests to assess nutritional and dietary needs, make recommendations, and work collaboratively with client representatives (especially nursing/medical staff), and with our Dining Services Director and Team Members to deliver those guests’ needs to high standards. The role also leads in communicating and implementing new clinical systems and programs, ensuring all statutory actions and documentation are consistently delivered, and integrates nutritional requirements into dining services production and operations.
EssentialFunctions and Key Tasks
- Evaluate resident nutritional needs and establish individualized plan of care.
- Monitor resident status and take appropriate actions.
- Work collaboratively with dining services department ensuring a smooth seven-day operation.
- Create and maintain documentation.
- Maintain client relationships.
- Update and apply professional knowledge.
- Set and communicate objectives, reinforce high standards, monitor performance, and address issues.
- Complete required departmental audits – clinical documentation review, food safety and sanitation, meal accuracy, and test tray audits.
- Address any corrective action plans resulting from audits.
- Implement any directives by corporate support within designated time frames.
- Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) and/or have licensure/certification.
- Serve Safe, Choke Save, and Allergen certification preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics, successful completion of Dietetic Internship or equivalent. Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a senior living environment.
- Scheduling may require 10-day on and 4-day off in a rotation determined by support needs.
- This position requires extensive travel up to 100%.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reside within commutable distance to a major airport.
- Requires work with extreme temperatures/conditions and frequent interaction with heated equipment, grease, refrigeration/freezer, and other at-risk conditions.
- Computer knowledge and ability to work with multiple software programs is essential.
- Involves repetitive motion, walking and/or standing for extended periods of time.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and carrying.
- Requires repetitive wrist motion.
