Job Description:
Job Overview
We are looking for a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to shape a storage system that is easy for business teams to use and relentlessly cost-efficient. You will own its architecture, data organization, and long-term evolution as workloads grow.
What You Will OwnDesign storage architecture around workload needs, defining data layout, partitioning, indexing, metadata, and access patterns.
Drive down total cost through tiering, lifecycle management, compression, deduplication, and reduced data movement, with explicit durability and performance targets.
Build practical storage interfaces and self-service capabilities; make ingestion, discovery, access, and troubleshooting straightforward for users.
Align product, data, research, and infrastructure teams on requirements, ownership, and migration plans; lead adoption and verify improvements in production.
Deep experience designing and operating large-scale storage systems, with sound judgment on consistency, replication, failure recovery, and capacity planning.
Hands-on ability to diagnose I/O bottlenecks and optimize data structures and read/write paths against representative workloads.
Strong cost discipline: you can quantify storage, requests, retrieval, network transfer, and operational overhead, then validate savings without compromising agreed service levels.
