Instrumentation and Electrical Technician - 1st Shift
Air Products is seeking an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to join our Santa Clara, CA Plant and Distribution Terminal. The role requires installing, troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining electrical equipment while upholding the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Install and troubleshoot a variety of electrical equipment.
- Calibrate manufacturing instrumentation according to procedures.
- Perform routine PMs on manufacturing and building equipment including HV transformers, MCC and Switchgear.
- Perform critical safety circuit testing (CSS).
- Troubleshoot PLC equipment, gas analyzers, truck scales, and HV/LV motors.
- Assist other maintenance techs with assigned tasks.
- Complete instrument tracking documentation.
- Complete required safety tasks and activities.
- Develop procedures for instrument calibrations and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Learn plant operations and support plant operations as needed.
- On‑call responsibilities as required.
- Act as the primary interface between Air Products and customers, communicating with field, management, sales, and engineering.
- Develop work scopes for equipment repair and overhaul.
- Participate actively in department safety programs.
- Promote safety rules, regulations, and environmental compliance.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Five years of industrial experience working on instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Applicable military training considered equivalent to industrial experience/trade school education.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits up to 60KV, mechanical piping, valves, pumps, compressors.
- Proficiency in using power tools (drills, saws, wrenches) and troubleshooting.
- Proficient communication and digital literacy.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Teamwork and self‑starter attitude with fast learning.
- Safety‑focused and able to work in all weather.
- Travel less than 20% and readiness for on‑call duties.

Expected hourly pay rate is $51.52 plus bonus. The rate may vary based on experience and qualifications.
