• Build, not maintain:
  Quick is in customers' hands, but many of the hardest problems in agentic AI are still being solved, and you will help define how they are solved.
• Technical leadership:
  You will set technical direction for your area, drive designs through review, and mentor engineers across the team.
• Enterprise scale with startup speed:
  We ship frequently to customers with high expectations for availability, performance, and security.
• High visibility:
  You will work closely with senior engineers, applied scientists, and product leaders on initiatives that are core to Amazon Quick.

• Lead the design and architecture of large, customer-facing features for Amazon Quick, from the user experience to the distributed services and cloud infrastructure behind them.
• Decide what to build with product managers and senior leaders, and turn ambiguous problems into clear technical plans and milestones.
• Design highly available, scalable, and secure distributed systems on AWS, and make sound trade-offs between speed, cost, and quality.
• Drive engineering best practices across the team, including design reviews, code reviews, testing, operational excellence, and documentation.
• Own the operational health of your systems, and lead deep dives into the hardest production issues.
• Use generative AI tools in your daily work, and help improve the quality and reliability of AI-powered features.
• Mentor engineers and help grow the next generation of technical leaders on the team.

You will work with a variety of languages and technologies, such as Python, Type Script, and Java, on AWS.

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
