About the role
Design, develop and test software applications for programming implantable BSC products or other software related products. Independently conducts work as part of a major research and/or development project. Can provide technical direction/review on broad scope or complex projects. Viewed as an expert in one or more in-house technologies.

Responsibilities- Responsible for developing software and/or testing implantable neural stimulation systems or other software related products. Provide competitive advantages in performance, cost and quality.
- Specify, design, analyze, simulate, document, code and test software and release to manufacturing.
- Organize, plan, track and close out activities associated with product performance in engineering, manufacturing and the field.
- Provide technical leadership for software engineers and technicians. Coordinate design, documentation, implementation, testing and production release activities of software team.
- Develop specs, architectures, designs, schedules and test plans related to product development activities and product upgrades.
- Participate in specifying, identifying and hiring the engineering and technical talent necessary to meet the project objectives.
- Use standard design processes to support product development and improve productivity. Participate and facilitate process improvement within a specified discipline (e.g., design methodologies, standards and tool evaluation).
- Work with the Regulatory Dept to ensure that design and test specs for the system meet or exceed all applicable regulatory standards.
- Participate in and present at department level meetings; project status and problem-solving results.
- Participate in budgeting process by providing input to direct supervisor relating to assigned project needs.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience with a university degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required; advanced/graduate degree preferred for some disciplines
