Sr. Process Engineer

Compensation: $90,000 – $120,000 per year
Description: In this critical role you will work side‑by‑side with Engineering, Production, QA, and R&D teams at Knowles Valencia to develop and optimize high‑volume MLCC processes. You will introduce new automated assembly equipment and technology, ensuring processes are stable, high yielding, and cost‑effective.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee MLCC new‐installed automation line, process development, equipment maintenance, and debugging.
- Create MLCC Mylar caster, printer, blanker, and stacker machine programs; set key process parameters; develop SPC controls, process window DOE, and documentation.
- Collaborate with process and equipment engineers to support process flow, analyze data for root cause of failures, and identify optimization opportunities; implement corrective actions across cross‑functional teams.
- Interpret cap test results and correlate them with physical assembly defects or process deviations.
- Train technicians and junior engineers on automated equipment operation and safety protocols; provide technical leadership within the engineering team.
- Provide daily engineering support to manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, throughput, and cost reduction.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry; preferred background in cleanroom work with automated machine programming, process window and parameter set‑up, machine debugging, and repairs.
- Hands‑on experience with capacitor assembly processes, including electrode stacking, sintering, termination, screen printing, blanking, stacking, pressing, dispensing, AOI, TnR, CSAM.
- Support for production includes a rotating schedule with one week per month on 2nd shift.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills; proven ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and mentor junior engineers or technicians.
- Understanding of ceramic capacitor or electronic component manufacturing processes.
- Excellent data analysis, DOE, SPC, and lean manufacturing skills.
