Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil & Structures

Senior Estimator

Take the lead in developing accurate, competitive estimates for major heavy civil and structural projects with a respected construction firm known for quality, integrity, and innovation.

$140,000 – $150,000 per year

Santa Clarita, CA (and other locations available)

• Coordinate and execute all estimating efforts for assigned bids and projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and attend pre‑bid meetings to determine project scope
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and equipment
• Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
• Incorporate historical data and productivity metrics into unit and man‑hour calculations
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to refine bids and resolve scope questions
• Support awarded projects through estimating extra work items, change orders, and credits
• Participate in post‑project debriefs to evaluate estimating performance and lessons learned
• Maintain organized records of estimates, pricing data, and supplier relationships
• Promote safety, quality, and adherence to company values in all work performed

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in heavy civil and structural estimating
• Proficiency in preparing detailed cost estimates, takeoffs, and project proposals
• Knowledge of Hard Dollar estimating software preferred
• Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of construction methods and cost drivers
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for cross‑functional collaboration
