Senior Estimator
Take the lead in developing accurate, competitive estimates for major heavy civil and structural projects with a respected construction firm known for quality, integrity, and innovation.
Base Pay$140,000 – $150,000 per year
LocationSanta Clarita, CA (and other locations available)
Responsibilities- Coordinate and execute all estimating efforts for assigned bids and projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and attend pre‑bid meetings to determine project scope
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns for materials, labor, and equipment
- Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
- Incorporate historical data and productivity metrics into unit and man‑hour calculations
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to refine bids and resolve scope questions
- Support awarded projects through estimating extra work items, change orders, and credits
- Participate in post‑project debriefs to evaluate estimating performance and lessons learned
- Maintain organized records of estimates, pricing data, and supplier relationships
- Promote safety, quality, and adherence to company values in all work performed
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in heavy civil and structural estimating
- Proficiency in preparing detailed cost estimates, takeoffs, and project proposals
- Knowledge of Hard Dollar estimating software preferred
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of construction methods and cost drivers
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for cross‑functional collaboration
