American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring CA RN licensure and mandatory floating to DOU and ARU units.

• MS/Tele unit with primary focus on med/surg patients and potential float to telemetry
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 13-week assignment length
• Mandatory float to ARU and DOU within scope of practice
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:3 in DOU and 1:5 in ARU
• Every other weekend required, with Sunday nights not counted as a weekend shift
• Any EMR/charting system experience accepted

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (CPI preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Patient ratio experience of 1:4-5 required
• Skills required:
  
  interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, feeding tube care, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, IV therapy, nasal cannula and oxygen mask use, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy care, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac management
• Preferred skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, PICC line management, and phlebotomy
• Travel pairs accepted though matching schedules are not guaranteed
• No prior travel experience required

• Provide nursing care across med/surg and telemetry patient populations with floating responsibilities to DOU and ARU
• RTO must be submitted upfront with no exceptions
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
