Our Resilient Central Coast (RCC) Team is looking for a Program Manager who is excited to take on a strategic leadership and oversight role in advancing equitable climate action and community engagement across the Monterey Bay Area Climate Justice Collaborative (CJC) and the six-county Resilient Central Coast (RCC) initiative.

The Climate Resilience Program Manager is responsible for leading, supervising, and coordinating staff, consultants, and partner organizations engaged in equitable climate resilience and disaster preparedness initiatives. This role provides programmatic direction, implementation oversight, project administration and cross-sector coordination to ensure alignment with Ecology Action's climate resilience goals, funder requirements, and community needs. This includes strengthening and managing partnerships with grassroots, municipal, and regional stakeholders;
and guiding the growth, content strategy, and community participation of Ecology Action's climate action work.
- Monitoring progress toward grant deliverables.
- Managing partners and subcontractors participating in RCC and CJC projects, helping set scopes of work and then ensuring ongoing performance management, invoicing, task completion and reporting are occurring on schedule.
- Establishing and maintaining Asana and other project tools to ensure accurate project tracking, staff assignments, and outcomes.
- Leading strategy and execution of the RCC including online and in person community engagement campaigns.
- Building and managing partnerships with civic, faith-based, youth, and community organizations to deepen engagement and support local leadership development.
- Partnering with frontline-serving organizations to build capacity and expand equitable access to RCC resources, integrating partners into program design, strategy, and funding roles.
- Supporting leadership teams in facilitating effective climate action meetings by providing tools, agendas, and strategic guidance with key partners and stakeholders.
- Plan, develop, design and deliver webinars and technical assistance trainings on local climate risks, emergency preparedness, residential home electrification and emerging resilience topics, aligned with grant deliverables and RCC leadership priorities, including content development, partner coordination, evaluation and marketing support.
- Monitoring RCC homepage and RCC action platforms' performance and user engagement, using data to guide strategy and improvements.
- Developing and managing systems to track participation, user activity, and impact, with regular reporting to stakeholders.
- Overseeing content updates to ensure accurate, up-to-date incentives, rebates, and educational resources in collaboration with partners.
- Coordinating cross-functional efforts to ensure platform usability, accessibility, and alignment with community engagement goals.
- Helping set and manage program budgets and resourcing in partnership with the Senior Director of Climate Leadership and the Development Team.
- Sustain business sponsorship relationships and solicitations and member agency fees and oversee funding pipeline projections for RCC.
- Collaborating with leadership team, partners and Budget Analyst team to create and manage initiative-level budgets and resourcing plans annually, including developing staff workplan hour projections.
- Ensuring appropriate expenditure and accurate budget accounting (including timesheet reporting) by staff billable to projects.
- Recruiting, leading, mentoring, and training assigned staff, interns and fellows.
- Monitoring and evaluating team performance, providing constructive feedback and recognition.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive work culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, and diversity.
- Minimum of in project and contract management and leadership.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in community climate programming, community organizing, community driven/equitable decision-making processes, environmental education, government funded environmental programs or related fields.
- Experience coordinating multiple partners and maintaining high functioning, collaborative relationships with both government and nonprofit staff and community members.
