We are seeking a skilled Sewing Technician to join our growing team and play a critical role in the fabrication of implantable cardiac devices. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a team and understands the importance of craftsmanship, consistency, and compliance when working on life-sustaining medical technologies.
Responsibilities- Execute prescribed hand‑sewing techniques such as running stitch, whip stitch and over‑hand knots in the process of building heart valve repair implants.
- Perform hand‑sewing techniques under a microscope and inside a clean room.
- Record and document build activities.
- Apply technical ability, fine motor skills, and attention to detail.
- Adapt to changing priorities throughout the day.
- Use Google Suite, Microsoft 365 and comparable computer systems.
- Previous experience with medical device assembly is welcomed but not required.
- Work 100% on‑site in our Santa Cruz, CA facility.
- Familiarity with hand‑sewing tools such as suture, straight and swaged needles, needle holders, scissors and microscopes.
- Open to training; eager to learn with strong communication skills; honest about skills and abilities.
- Precise adherence to written manufacturing process instructions (MPI’s).
- Capable communicator able to carry out activities described in written instructions.
- Ability to work a full shift using a microscope inside a clean room.
- Detail oriented, and able to transcribe written information to production documentation.
- Experience with in a Quality System for the production of medical devices is a plus.
- Competent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent manual sewing skills.
- Competent in working using a microscope.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks.
