JOB SUMMARYPolice Officers are the primary representatives of the University of California Police Department, responsible for the delivery of public safety and law enforcement services on and near the campus and other properties owned, controlled, or occupied by the University. Officers work under supervision and independently as needed. They engage in preventative patrols, respond to calls, make arrests, conduct investigations, testify in court, and manage custody of evidence and property.
They may work with civilian and other law enforcement agencies to provide security for ceremonies and events. The incumbent demonstrates knowledge of modern police methods, teamwork, interpersonal skills, and commitment to diversity and community-oriented policing. Officers may work evening, night, and weekend shifts and may be required to work mandatory overtime, attend off-site training, and provide mutual aid as needed.
INFORMATION
Budgeted Salary: $47.84 - $52.55/hour. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
Under California law, the University is required to post a reasonable estimate of compensation. The salary posted is the budgeted amount and should not be exceeded.
