Job Title: Sr. Software Development Engineer - Android
Location: Santa Cruz, CA
Duration/Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

Position Overview:

Amazon's Marketplace team drives a multi-billion dollar business enabling millions of sellers worldwide to sell on Amazon. Join our mobile team in Seattle, WA, or Santa Cruz County, CA, to develop applications used by sellers to manage their businesses from mobile devices. Work closely with PMs, Designers, and TPMs to deliver top-tier mobile experiences. We seek innovative, flexible, and self-directed candidates capable of designing high-performance, reliable, and maintainable code in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
• 8+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in Java or other high-level programming languages
• 3+ years of experience with iOS frameworks and/or Android SDK
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, object-oriented design, algorithms, and problem-solving
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving team environment and drive cross-team solutions with complex dependencies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with at least one commercial application in the market
• Proven experience building complex, scalable, high-performance systems delivered to customers
• Experience designing mobile experiences for variable bandwidth conditions
• Passion for creating great mobile experiences worldwide
